Nate Woodruff recently sent the letter that he has been sending to the Programs that he has been contacting to play at.  Have a look below.

Have you been approached by recruiters? If so, whom, and what was the feedback?

My select coaches have been approached by McNeese, San Jac, Williams Baptist, and a few others Last year. All say I have excellent mechanics and  want to see me again. I was told that I throw a very hard ball and have good plate control by  scouts.

3. What schools are you leaning towards playing for in the future?

I am open to all opportunities.

4. What are your strengths as a player prospect? What do you have to offer teams at the next level?

I am a very good starting pitcher with sound mechanics and a strong arm.  I  have  alot of heart  and I leave it all on the field. I  am a very finished pitcher and have good leadership capabilities.

5. What are your weaknesses as a player prospect? Where do you need to get better?

My size and speed are my weaknesses. I am running 2 miles a day and will continue until I get my desired results. Goal is 220. I have already lost 37 lbs since last summer.

6. Please tell us your stats from this season (if not available, please estimate)

Last year,  I had a .91 ERA at the end of HS this year and I have  pitched three shutouts  in the last  Month and 1/2. 1 against Cookie E training 18s from Round Rock, and 1 against Walker LA 18s, Louisiana Banditos 18s.   So far, my record is 6/0 this year. and I think my ERA is better than a .9 now. I am very good at producing strikeouts.

This year, In the last 4 games both in and right before the playoffs, I have pitched  a 7 inning  no hitter shutout against Stratford H.S. , a 5 inning  shutout against Waller H.S. ,  another 7 inning shutout against Kingwood Park, and a 6 inning 1 run on an error 2-1 game against Goose Creek. I am pitching tonight 5/18 against Montgomery H.S. lookng for a win.

7. Who are the ten best players you have played against in your career? List their 2011 team, name and why you believe they are special players

I have played against a lot of good players, and alot of great teams but I really did not catch their names. They will remember me though. Some of the stronger teams,  College Park HS, Walker, La HS,  Lamar consolidated HS (early last year, Gave up 6 runs 1st inning and then gave up 1 more for the remaining 5 innings. We won the game) Shut out  (13-0 for the season) Kingwood HS with Magnolia year before last and hadnt touched a ball in 6 mos before I did it. Some of the other teams wereThe  Longhorns, Banditos Gold, St Thomas HS(1 hit)  Atascocita HS (shutout), North Shore HS,   Klein Collins, Brenham HS. Channelview HS.  Stratford HS, and Bullet baseball.

8. Who are/were the best five players on your team? List their name, birth year and why you feel they are special players.

Eric Dumbar 1994? Eric has a great attitude and very good skills toward the game and is funny in the dugout. He’s a very dependable teammate.

Dylan Menville 1994? He also has a very good attitude and can swing the bat very well.

Dylan Bass 1994?  He’s a good ball player, Loves the game and gives 100%.

Casesy  Martinez 1992?  Magnolia West HS, He is very athletic and always wants to do it right.
